I'm hoping fresher kernels will do the trick. My wife and I just finished a huge box of pre-packaged, single-serving microwave popcorn bags, and I hope we never have that stuff in our house again. After all I've read, I am scared of it.

I just called my wife and asked her to grab some fresh kernels at the store today so I can try your method tonight.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08722639974320971726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-49532867371436742372008-01-17T16:49:00.000-05:002008-01-17T16:49:00.000-05:00SIL#4, I think I know who you are and I'm glad you...SIL#4, I think I know who you are and I'm glad you like my popcorn. You should come around soon and we'll make some.

Jennifer, we probably eat too much popcorn. But you're right--there are days when it is just the thing. We try to always have a stash in the freezer. It's a real tragedy when we reach for it and it's not there. The tossing part's not hard. You don't really throw it in the air so much as just get it to turn over in the bowl.Ed Bruskehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12217850970833353800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-16214806499718734432008-01-16T07:28:00.000-05:002008-01-16T07:28:00.000-05:00Ah, Ed, how did you know? There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that beats popcorn popped on the stove, with just the right amount of salt (and sometimes a little drizzle of butter). I think, though, that I myself would not risk tossing the kernels to salt them completely unless I had a dog to clean up the mess. :-)The Baklava Queenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03801967818481598226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-13380725550746661712008-01-15T14:00:00.000-05:002008-01-15T14:00:00.000-05:00Edward you are an expert popcorn maker. I used to just buy the small package of Safeway brand. It worked just as well. You could probably buy bulk at Yes! or some other natural food store. The important thing is, the seeds cannot be stale or they will not fully pop. The turnover at Whole Foods seems to be pretty quick--I haven't experienced any problems.Ed Bruskehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12217850970833353800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-69526078658442908512008-01-15T11:47:00.000-05:002008-01-15T11:47:00.000-05:00You.
