Any ideas for a replacement for oats in the granola?Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08896172914500564208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-74112548509347402462008-03-14T15:12:00.000-04:002008-03-14T15:12:00.000-04:00Hi Ed,Looks like a great recipe, love granola!Hi Ed,
Looks like a great recipe, love granola!Meg Wolffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10052363163218543818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-35929058077259113952008-03-14T13:37:00.000-04:002008-03-14T13:37:00.000-04:00Joanna, I'd go lower on the oven temperature befor...Joanna, I'd go lower on the oven temperature before I'd go higher, and leave the granola in longer if needs be. Haven't had any problem with burning. We like it well-done. And we have lots of kids with allergies in our school. I don't even attempt to bring nuts.

BR, kids are not always so finicky, especially when they participate in the kitchen duties. But they definitely seem to have an aversion to things that are too healthy.

Jenna, by all means drop the coconut and procede with your granola. Take a cruise through the bulk aisle and see if there isn't something else you'd like to put in it.Ed Bruskehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12217850970833353800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-72854612433064368172008-03-14T12:59:00.000-04:002008-03-14T12:59:00.000-04:00Hmmm... wonder if the coconut could be replaced wi...Hmmm... wonder if the coconut could be replaced with the missing nuts. I see it in every recipe I've come across, does the coconut serve a real purpose inate to the granola? Or can I give it a shove?

I'm allergic and the hubby tells everyone he is as well so he doesn't have to touch it! (Not only kids are picky.)

Thanks for the memory jog. I've been looking for a substantial breakfast idea to replace my usual winter oatmeal with as the weather warms. Yogurt is working away in the kitchen, looks like it's time to crank the oven on.Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06185436739526161223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5603202988847584283.post-37475648795854860192008-03-14T10:26:00.000-04:002008-03-14T10:26:00.000-04:00Jeez, what's not to like?
